Trauma-informed Somatic Therapy

Somatic therapy, also referred to as somatic experiencing or somatic psychology, is an approach that acknowledges the profound connection between the mind and body. This therapeutic method places significant emphasis on the role of the body in processing and healing emotional and psychological issues. In my practice, I guide individuals to cultivate awareness of their body's responses to emotions, fostering embodiment and the exploration of complex feelings. Somatic therapy is particularly effective in trauma work, recognizing that trauma often resides in the body, manifesting as dissociation, physical symptoms, or tension. Together, we will work towards releasing the physical manifestations of trauma using techniques that prioritize safety, grounding, and gradual processing.

Mindfulness

In my therapeutic approach, I incorporate various techniques such as breathwork, movement exercises, mindful presencing, and embodiment to facilitate healing. These interventions empower clients to establish a sense of safety and to access and process emotions stored in the body.

Entheogens and Psychedelics

I possess training and awareness of the transformative potential of entheogens and psychedelics. I encourage open discussions about these experiences within the therapeutic setting, providing a space to explore any messages or significance they may hold. Psychedelic integration work aligns seamlessly with somatic exploration, allowing for a continued connection with growth and opening.
